BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - The New York State Department of Health has opened up two additional drive thru Coronavirus testing sites in Western New York. The newest site is located next to KeyBank Center in Buffalo's Cobblestone District. A second site opened Wednesday on the campus of Niagara County Community College.
Diagnostic testing has ramped up dramatically in Western New York this week. "Contactless testing opened late this morning," said New York State Assemblyman Sean Ryan about the Cobblestone site. "It allows you to drive in and get tested without leaving your car. It's a big breakthrough. We're happy it's finally here." Hours are from 8am to 6pm, 7 days a week.
The National Guard is helping to run both the Cobblestone and NCCC sites.
Test results will be in within five days. New York State is now conducting 30-thousand tests a day.
Both testing sites are Covid testing only, not antibody testing.
