As summer wanes, ice cream reigns.  Business First reports that Hook & Ladder Development Co. is opening an ice cream parlor this month called Cookies and Cream at 2114 Seneca Street.  Gifford's ice cream from Skowhegan, Maine will be served up there.

Also from Business First - Lake Effect Artisan Ice Cream has bought the Hertel Avenue building it leased since opening up in 2017.  The purchase price was reportedly $243,000.


The Buffalo Urban Renewal agency has named Hostel Buffalo-Niagara the designated developer for 667 Main Street/664 Washington Street.  The redevelopment plan by the Hostel calls for street-level commercial storefronts and transformation of the upper floors into extended-stay private rooms with ensuite bathrooms and kitchenettes.

In preparation for the Kentucky Derby tomorrow, Batavia Downs and Western Regional OTB locations will open at 10:30am Friday and Saturday for advance wagering.  All branches will have enter and exit only signs to help direct traffic.
