Another Two Cent Drop For Gas Prices

According to the AAA, the price at the pump dropped two cents this week to an average of $2.51 for a gallon of unleaded in the region.  The price is almost exactly the same as it was a year ago on this date.

Buffalo-based Safetec of America is seeing brisker business due to the coronavirus.  Business First reports the company, which makes hand sanitizers and soaps for sale to customers that include hospitals, schools, government and retail entities, has 125 employees.


The Genesee County Economic Development Center approved a number of projects late last week.  Those included the $22 million Ellicott Station mixed-use project proposed by Savarino Cos.  The $3.1 million redevelopment of Ellicott Place by developer V.J. Gautieri Construction also got the okay, as did five community solar projects proposed by Borrego Solar that include capital investments of approximately $21.6 million.

Catholic Charities has received $1.7 million in grants from the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation.  Funds from the grants have gone toward expanding and continuing their In-School Social Work program.
