Astronics Corporation has acquired Freedom Communication Technologies, Inc. for $22 million in cash. FCT is a developer and manufacturer of communication test equipment for the land-based mobile radio test market.
D'Avolio Kitchen is moving downtown. Business First reports D'Avolio is leaving its present home at 535 Main Street for the Hyatt Regency Buffalo, where it will take over the Atrium Bar & Bistro restaurant operations. D'Avolio offers specialty sandwiches, salads, flat-bread pizzas and soups along with its line of specially crafted oils. The move is expected to take place within the next 60 days.
In collaboration with Electrify America, Walmart has installed an electric vehicle charging station at the Walmart Supercenter at 2500 Walden Avenue in Cheektowaga. This is part of a broader plan by Walmart to develop a coast-to-coast EV charging network.
A federal grant totaling $2.8 million will go to the Niagara Falls Water Board for improvements to the Niagara Falls Wastewater Treatment Plant. The federal funding is provided under FEMA's Hazard Mitigation Grant Program.
