Buffalo, NY (WBEN) Wegmans is the latest supermarket chain to ask customers to not openly carry firearms inside the stores.
This comes on the heels of Walmart asking its customers to do the same on Tuesday.
"The sight of someone with a gun can be alarming, and we don't want anyone to feel that way at Wegmans. For this reason, we prefer that customers not openly carry firearms into our stores," says Wegmans in a tweet.
There's nothing more important than the safety of our customers & employees. The sight of someone with a gun can be alarming, and we don't want anyone to feel that way at Wegmans. For this reason, we prefer that customers not openly carry firearms into our stores.

The move may have been made in part after actress Julianne Moore called out Wegmans on Twitter.
Hey @Wegmans - yesterday @Walmart and @kroger stood up for public safety and asked customers not to carry guns in their stores. Will you join them? @MomsDemand @Everytown #GroceriesNotGuns https://t.co/DEqoWClPbF
