West Seneca Bank Robbery Suspect Nabbed

West Seneca, NY (WBEN)West Seneca Police have made an arrest in the M&T Bank Robbery on Slade Avenue last Saturday.  

Police say the public's help and the keen eye of an officer working a case with a suspect matching the description of the bank robber, Detectives were quickly able to identify the subject.  The subject has been identified as Mitchell G. Jonathan, a 35 year old male from West Seneca, NY.


Late last night police Officer Adam Schnitzer saw a person pushing a bicycle on Indian Church Rd. that he recognized as Mitchell G. Jonathan.  

As Officer Schnitzer questioned him, police say Jonathan gave Officer Schnitzer a false name and proceeded to flee on foot.  

After an exhaustive search of the area, Officer Schnitzer located him hiding in the yard of an Indian Church Rd. address, where he once again fled on foot jumping over several fences.  

After being pursued by several Officers, Jonathan was stopped and arrested in the rear yard of a Collins Ave. residence.

Jonathan been charged with the following:

·     Robbery 3rd Degree ( a class D Felony)

·     Petit Larceny ( a class A Misdemeanor)

·     False Personation ( a class B Misdemeanor)

·     Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd Degree ( a class A Misdemeanor)

·     Resisting Arrest (a class A Misdemeanor)

·     Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance (2 Counts)  ( Class A Msdemeanors)
