But is Buffalo being oversaturated with the hockey market?

"I don't think so because Buffalo is a hockey city," Visit Buffalo Niagara President & CEO Patrick Kaler said when asked if there's a hockey fatigue. "It's in everybody's blood as a local to embrace hockey and love hockey. They started at a young age playing hockey and just have been fans. Even though maybe the Sabres didn't do as well, to have this event, we'll have a good fan base who comes out and watch good collegiate hockey and have some of the top college athletes coming to our destination."
Kaler said Visit Buffalo Niagara has been working for years to coordinate this year's Frozen Four and said they've been mobilizing their volunteer base in the tourism industry.
"Everybody's going to be on the top of their game this weekend," Kaler added.
Canisius College Assistant Athletic Director of Communications Matt Reitnour echoed Kaler's comments about there not being "hockey fatigue" in Buffalo.
"The price points have moved a little bit and now folks can go online or go to the KeyBank Center ticket office and buy single session tickets," Reitnour said. "They've done some different things from a pricing standpoint to make it more affordable for families. I know everyone's very concerned about dollars and cents. From a standpoint of being able to see high level competition, this is an affordable product."
Tickets for all sessions range from $135.65 to $258.25 including fees though there are other packages for youth and families.
