
Williamsville, NY (WBEN) On the deadline day for district to sumbit school reopening plans, Buffalo and Williamsville school districts are among the major districts that released their reopening plans.
In Williamsville, the district says the goal is to "Maximize health and safety of students and staff as they return to school in September 2020, and inform our stakeholders of steps we are taking to make a safer environment for students and staff." But it warns the community a return to school will not mean a return to normal. The district notes there are new responsibilities we have to accept to help maximize the health and safety of the school community.
The plan is to start school on September 8th.
The district says this will conduct the following protocols to promote health and safety: health screening with daily temperature check, assessment of ill students and staff with isolation, hand and respiratory hygiene protocols for staff and students, social distancing, face covering, PPE, and daily cleaning protocols.
The district plans on a hybrid schedule of in-person and distance learning.

A Group students attend school Monday and Tuesday
B Group students attend school Thursday and Friday
C Group students attend school Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
D Group students attend school Monday through Friday
The district says a community forum to present the District’s plan will take place on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at 6 p.m. through Zoom.
