Amherst, NY (WBEN) - The changing weather over the past few days haven't been a driver's best friend.
That means it's been a busy week for the AAA.
"Monday was triple the usual call volume, and yesterday was double the usual call volume," said Elizabeth Carey of the AAA. "We're comparing that with a typical January day."
And it doesn't matter if it was the cold from the beginning of the week, or Wednesday's icy drive.
"AAA has been so busy," Carey said. "Earlier in the week it was those dead battery calls. We got almost 5,000 calls on Monday for dead batteries and responded to almost 4,000. Today it's been cars going off the road in the slick conditions that needed tows out of there."
