CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WBEN) - With the blizzard-like conditions gone, everyday people are slowly getting back into the swing of things. However, while most people opt to stay home and comfortable, others are still braving the elements.
At a local grocery store, one gentleman told us he simply needed to get some chap stick before he was going into work. Most grocery stores in the area are seeing fewer customers these last couple of days due to the winter storm.
Even at Tim Horton's, for the ones that are open in the region, the morning rush hasn't been there the past couple of days because of the dangerous weather conditions.
"There's always someone on the road," Roger, the manager at the Tim Horton's on George Urban and Union Road, said. "Whether it be police, fire, plows, we try to stay open all the time just for the fact. Plus, it's a place for people to come for shelter, too. When it's a blizzard and freezing outside, you can't beat having a hot cup of coffee in a nice, warm environment."
Roger said there's been lots of plow and ambulance workers stopping by their restaurant in addition to Cheektowaga Police and everyday customers.
