Buffalo, NY (WBEN) A Buffalo woman pleads guilty to attempted assault in the stabbing of her child.
33-year-old Zakiyyah M. Wolfford stabbed her 6-year old child in their apartment on Purdy Street in Buffalo last October. Police responded to the home after being called by a neighbor. Officers found Wolfford on the porch with self-inflicted stab wounds.
The child was taken to Oishei Children's Hospital to be treated for injuries to his chest, abdomen, and arms. Wolfford was taken to ECMC.
Wolfford faces a maximum of 1 1/3 to 4 years in prison when she is sentenced on May 5, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. She remains released on bond.
