Tim and Mark Woodcock are the president and vice president, respectively, of the company, and they discussed why this business venture made so much sense for them.
"We needed to expand our market share; we understand that Wilson is a wonderful community, but it's a little bit of a drive for people," said Mark. "We felt that if we moved a little farther south that we could increase our market share. This is a great community, great location, 50-some thousand cars a day go down here, so how better can you expand your brand than that?"
Tim added that it's pretty surreal to be opening another location, but it's exciting.
"It's just nice to see us being able to go into a second location," he said. "Two years ago if you had asked me if I'd ever think about opening a second location, I would have said no way. But, I'm glad that we went on this path, and here we are."
The intent is to use this site as more of a developmental spot.
"This is more of an experimental plant; we're going to be doing a lot of one-off beers here," said Tim. "These one-offs will be created here, and if they turn out to be a beer that's very marketable, we'll send that recipe down to the main plant, and we'll produce the product there."
Even if you're not necessarily a beer lover, Woodcock Brothers has some pretty exciting food cooking in the kitchen.
The location officially opens up to the public at 11 a.m. Friday morning.
