Orchard Park, N.Y. (WBEN) - For the first time since 2010, the Buffalo Bills will be wearing their throwback red helmets for the final regular season at Highmark Stadium in Week 18 against the New York Jets.

The Bills wore these helmets from 1987 through the 2001 season. In that span, the Bills won six division titles and four AFC Championships.

The red helmet is not the only throwback the Bills will be wearing for the 2025 season.

The Bills also say they will honor their days in the AFL by wearing the "Standing Buffalo" uniform that was worn from 1962 through 1973. That uniform will be worn in Buffalo's Week 5 matchup with the Atlanta Falcons on "Monday Night Football", as well as its Week 11 showdown with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Highmark Stadium, then Rich Stadium, was opened in 1973 with the "Standing Buffalo" being worn in the first year of the new facility in Orchard Park. It was also the year Hall of Fame running back O.J. Simpson broke the NFL rushing record with 2,003 yards.

For the 11 years with the "Standing Buffalo" look, the Bills won three AFL Eastern Division championships and two AFL titles.

The Bills will begin training camp from St. John Fisher University in Rochester on Wednesday, and will continue through Aug. 7.
