Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR 550/WBEN) - The Buffalo Bills announced a pair of roster moves at running back on Friday with the signing of Ty Johnson to the active roster, while placing running back Damien Harris on Injured Reserve.

Harris suffered a neck sprain in last Sunday's win over the New York Giants. He was also still in the league's concussion protocol earlier this week.

Being placed on Injured Reserve means Harris must miss, at least, four games before being eligible to return to the field.

Johnson will fill the void left by Harris, as he signs to the 53-man active roster from the practice squad.

Originally a 2019 sixth-round draft pick of the Detroit Lions out of Maryland, Johnson is a dual-threat back who has 925 rushing yards and four touchdowns, along with 86 catches for 668 yards and three scores over four seasons with the Lions and New York Jets.

Johnson has also averaged 17.7 yards per-return on 14 total kick returns.

The 26-year-old joins James Cook and Latavius Murray in the Bills' backfield, as the team gets set to take on the New England Patriots this Sunday in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

For Sunday's game, the Bills have officially ruled out defensive tackle Ed Oliver (toe) and tight end Quintin Morris (ankle). Defensive back Cam Lewis is officially questionable to play with a shoulder injury.

For the Patriots, defensive end Josh Uche and right tackle Riley Reiff are officially out, while 16 different players are listed as questionable.
