The Buffalo Bills have agreed to a new three-year contract with offensive lineman Jon Feliciano, the team announced on Sunday.
Matt Parrino of Syracuse.com reported that the new deal is worth $17 million total, keeping the versatile lineman off the fee agent market when the new league year begins on Wednesday.
With the re-signing of Feliciano, Bills general manager Brandon Beane has managed to keep the team’s consensus top-three pending unrestricted free agents, inking linebacker Matt Milano on Thursday and right tackle Daryl Williams on Friday.
Feliciano signed with the Bills as an unrestricted free agent prior to the 2019 season. He had spent the first four years of his career with the Oakland Raiders. He missed the first seven games of last season after tearing a pectoral muscle during an offseason workout, right before training camp. But immediately upon his return to the lineup, there was a noticeably different attitude amongst the unit.
In his first game back, Feliciano had to slide over to center after starter Mitch Morse got hurt on the very first series. In that game, the Bills rushed for 190 yards and beat the New England Patriots, 24-21. He also played in place of Morse when Morse didn’t dress as a healthy scratch against the Arizona Cardinals, proving his versatility.
NFL free agency begins Wednesday at 4 p.m. Eastern. Teams may begin contacting agents and negotiation contracts for their clients beginning on Monday. The Bills now have eleven pending Unrestricted Free Agents and three pending Restricted Free Agents.
