Bills trim roster to 53; place Tre'Davious White on Reserve/PUP list

White will have to miss, at least, the first four games of the 2022 season

Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR 550) - The Buffalo Bills trimmed their roster to 53 active players on Tuesday, and in the process also announced they have transferred All-Pro cornerback Tre'Davious White from the Active/PUP list to the Reserve/PUP list.

Transferring White to the Reserve/PUP list means he is ineligible to play a game, or even practice through, at least, the team's first four games.

The earliest White will be eligible to begin practicing would be Monday, Oct. 3 after missing games against the Los Angeles Rams, Tennessee Titans, Miami Dolphins, and Baltimore Ravens.

While the team sits at the maximum 53 active players, they still don't have a punter signed on the roster. Once they sign one, they will most likely move another player to Injured Reserve, which means he will not count on the active roster.

Wide receiver Marquez Stevenson, who has been dealing with a foot injury, is a strong candidate for that designation. That would allow Stevenson (or any other player who now goes on Injured Reserve) to return to the field after missing a minimum of four games, as well.
