Cole Beasley rants about NFLPA's pushing of COVID-19 vaccine

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Cole Beasley tweeted criticism of the NFL and NFL Player's Association's guidelines for vaccinated and non-vaccinated players that restricts many activities for those who haven't taken the vaccine.

Beasley - who is entering his third season with the Bills - is upset the NFL Players Association is encouraging players to take one of the available vaccines, and punishing those who don't:

The tweets come at a time when a federal vaccine advisory panel will hear data and evidence on the couple hundred cases of heart inflammation - Myocarditis - that has happened in younger recipients, mostly men under the age of 30, of the Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines.

Beasley was backed up on Twitter by Bills lineman John Feliciano, who tweeted "Don't forget the Coaches," suggesting the NFL is trying to force coaches to get vaccinated or not be able to coach in person. Feliciano in a tweet said that he has been fully vaccinated, but people should "Respect other's decision to do what they want with their bodies."

The three COVID-19 vaccines currently approved in the United States - Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson - have varying rates of effectiveness, but all drastically decrease your chances of contracting the virus. None of the vaccines will give you 100% certainty that you won't acquire COVID-19, but if a vaccine is 94% effective - which studies suggest that the Pfizer vaccine is - that's a whole lot more protection than 0%.

However, Beasley's comments are a reminder that while the Miami Dolphins and New Orleans Saints have cleared the 85% vaccinated hurdle, quite a bit of work may need to be done to get all 32 teams to that point.
