Orchard Park, N.Y. (WBEN) - The passion of Buffalo Bills fans will be on full display beginning Wednesday as Bills Mafia line up to be tested for COVID-19 in an elaborate setup outside Bills Stadium in Orchard Park.
Each of the more than 6700 fans who will attend Saturday's playoff game against the Indianapolis Colts needs to demonstrate a negative test to be admitted to the stadium.
As fans show their support for the team, Buffalo Bill offensive tackle Dion Dawkins is taking notice and has published a letter to Bills Mafia in The Players Tribune, an online publication that allows professional athletes to interact with fans in their own words.
In the letter published Tuesday, Dawkins writes; "I guess what I just want to say here, more than anything…. it's that we play for this city — but we belong to this community. And we're going to keep on doing our part for it, y'all can bet on that. We've got y'all's backs like y'all have had ours."
Dawkins writes of the challenges facing the Buffalo community, about the tragedy that COVID has inflicted on many Western New York families and also takes time praising the work of both Stefon Diggs and Josh Allen.
