Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR 550/WBEN) - After earning a huge win over the Las Vegas Raiders last week in their home opener, the Buffalo Bills are looking to keep that momentum rolling into Week 3 when they take on the Washington Commanders at FedEx Field in Landover, Maryland.

While the Commanders have not had great success in recent years, their 2-0 start to the 2023 season has given the organization a breath of fresh air, especially given the other changes made atop the hierarchy in Washington.

Bills head coach Sean McDermott knows his group will have to be ready for an energized environment come Sunday, especially when the Commanders defense takes to the field against Josh Allen and the offense.

"They just keep coming after you up front," said McDermott on Friday in his weekly appearance on the "Extra Point Show" on WGR. "The high picks, all four top picks, first-round picks, they've been at this for a few years now. And now that you add the quarterback [Sam Howell] into the mix, this is a talented quarterback."

Even though the Commanders may be coming into Sunday's game on a bit of a hot streak, McDermott says he still has a plan in place. He emphasized the importance of being flexible throughout the game when plans may have to change.

"When you put a plan together, you try and asses every different angle and bake everything in ahead of time. But then as the game unfolds, it changes a little bit. So you always try to adapt to every situation," McDermott said with Sal Capaccio and Joe DiBiase.

While Sunday will certainly be an important game for the Bills, it will also mark a milestone for McDermott, as he coaches his 100th game. McDermott couldn't help but take a moment to reflect on his time spent in Buffalo, and what it means to lead a group like the Bills have in Orchard Park.

"Very grateful, from the day I got the job, to the Pegula family, to all of Buffalo for embracing us as a family. Very grateful to the many people who have had a big hand in our success here in turning this place around a little bit, also now sustaining some success. Extremely blessed and grateful," McDermott said.
