Pittsburgh, Pa. (93.7 The Fan/WBEN) - It looks like the Pittsburgh Steelers are going to have to make it to the AFC Championship Game if they are going to see outside linebacker T.J. Watt on the field again this season.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin announced on Tuesday that Watt will not play on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills in Orchard Park after suffering a knee injury in Saturday's win over the Baltimore Ravens.

Watt suffered a reported Grade 2 MCL sprain after he collided with Steelers defensive tackle Montravius Adams during their win in Baltimore.

NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport says it appears the injury will keep the likely candidate for NFL Defensive Player of the Year out, at least, two weeks, and he would need to wear a brace during the AFC Championship Game if, and that’s a big if, the Steelers make it.

Watt’s brother, J.J., gave an update on X, formally known as Twitter, on Sunday.

The good news is, it isn’t a long-term injury. The bad news is the injury happened when it did, just a week before facing the Bills in the AFC Wild Card Round.

Meanwhile, the Bills may be without one of their stars on offense this coming Sunday.

According to Rapoport on Monday, wide receiver Gabe Davis reportedly suffered a PCL sprain in his knee.

Rapoport says his status is “TBD” for Sunday's contest against the Steelers. However, Bills head coach Sean McDermott did not have much of an injury update when speaking with reporters on Monday.

Davis has seven touchdowns this season to go along with 45 catches for 746 yards. Rapoport calls him one of the most underrated wide receivers in the league.
