Williamsville East catcher Joe Mack picked 31st overall in MLB draft by Miami Marlins

Denver, CO (WBEN) - Williamsville East catcher Joe Mack had his dream come true Sunday during the opening round of the MLB Draft when the Miami Marlins selected him 31st overall.

Heading into the draft, Mack was expected to be selected in the first round, rated as the 19th overall prospect.

Mack, 18, earned the WNY All Coaches Player of the Year award two times and posted a .500 batting average in 21 games as a senior with 8 home runs, 22 RBI and 26 stolen bases.

Mack has a major league decision to make now as he is currently committed to play for Clemson in the fall.
