Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550/WBEN) - The Buffalo Sabres released their 2025 NHL preseason schedule on Tuesday, featuring six games against three different opponents as warmups for the regular season slate.
This year will see the Sabres playing a set of three home-and-home series, starting with matchups against the Columbus Blue Jackets, followed by a pair of back-to-back meetings with the Detroit Redwings and Pittsburgh Penguins.
The preseason slate of games officially gets underway on Monday, Sept. 22 in Columbus for a 7 p.m. faceoff with the Blue Jackets. The Sabres will then host its first preseason game in Downtown Buffalo the next day on Tuesday, Sept. 23 against Columbus for a 7 p.m. faceoff.
Then after a home-and-home with the Red Wings on Thursday, Sept. 25 and Saturday, Sept. 27, Buffalo will play its final home preseason game on Wednesday, Oct. 1 against the Penguins, followed by the last preseason game in Pittsburgh on Friday, Oct. 3.
Last season, the Sabres played part of their preseason in North America before embarking to Europe to play in the NHL Global Series, which included an exhibition tilt with EHC Red Bull Munich in Germany.
The 2025-26 regular season is expected to commence on Tuesday, Oct. 7.
As for the complete regular season schedule, it has reportedly been set to be released on Wednesday, July 16.
