The Buffalo Sabres have seen their next three originally scheduled games postponed due to COVID-19 issues with opposing teams.
However, the Sabres now have their first player in a while to enter the National Hockey League's COVID-19 Protocols on Monday, as forward Vinnie Hinostroza has been added to the list.
Hinostroza joins a growing list of players around the NHL to be placed in COVID-19 Protocols over the last several days. More than 100 players have already entered the league's protocols, which has caused nine teams to shut down their seasons through Dec. 26.
Goalie Dustin Tokarski was added to the league's COVID-19 list back on Dec. 2, but has since come off the list and has been skating back in Buffalo.
With the next three games on the schedule being postponed, the Sabres will next play on Monday, Dec. 27 against the New York Islanders at KeyBank Center. That is pending on the team not having more players enter COVID-19 protocols over the coming days.
The Sabres are scheduled to practice on Tuesday at 11 a.m. EST, where general manager Kevyn Adams is expected to address the media after the session.

According to Daily Faceoff NHL insider Frank Seravalli, the NHL has had conversations on Monday about a possible league-wide shutdown due to the rising COVID-19 numbers. Seravalli reports a decision could be effective as soon as Tuesday, but "the situation remains very fluid," and no final call has been made as of yet.
As of Monday, the league schedule features just seven games before the Christmas break. Meanwhile, 44 games have now been postponed this season, with 39 of those contests being postponed over the last week.
