Inside the Buffalo Bills training complex, it was almost library-quiet on Wednesday afternoon.

But every now and then, you heard a cheer or someone shouting "all right."

The cheers were coming from newly hired game day experience workers that the Bills' are hiring as they prep to open new Highmark Stadium this summer.

Some came "dressed for success" in khakis and blazers. Others came donning Bills' attire.

The Bills hope to hire at least 125 new workers to augment its small army of more than 500 game day crew members.

A job fair, held Wednesday, in the field house helped the Bills reach that goal.

To a retiree like William Kackard, it was a dream come true.

Kackard was hired as game day ticket taker/greeter.

"I can't think of a better place to be," Kackard said.

The Bills were hiring for a number of positions including ticket takers, ushers, elevator operators, ADA specialists and premium hospitality workers. Pay starts at $18 per hour, depending on the position.

"Working for the Bills and at the new stadium, it's unreal," said Sonya Kroksey from Buffalo.

Nick Amico, who traveled from the Rochester suburb of Pittsford in the hopes of landing a job, said working for the Bills was one motivating factor but so was being one of the first to work at new Highmark Stadium.

"It adds a little bit of sentimental value," Amico said.

All of the new hires should be in place by late winter. Training for all game day workers - both veterans and the newly hired - will start in June.
