Orchard Park, N.Y. (WBEN) - While the Buffalo Bills operations crew was busy removing it with plows, shovels, blowers and brooms, Bills Mafia was celebrating the snow and playing in it as they geared up for a snow game at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park.

Outside the stadium all day Saturday, high loaders were working non-stop, plows were pushing snow into small mountains and shovelers making sure walkways were clear for fans making their way from the parking lots and into the stadium.

Inside the stadium, the Bills were working to keep the field and sidelines clear after lake effect snow bands dumped about 9 inches of fresh snow in Orchard Park during the day Saturday.

Once the game was underway, fans were tossing snowballs onto the sidelines and field, forcing the officiating crew to warn them and causing a delay of the game.

NFL Network sideline reporter Pete Schrager reported that Dolphins personnel were being targeted on the sideline, and that the snowballs were packed with ice.

Fans were throwing the snowballs at both teams throughout the first half, but more so at the Dolphins. It was especially noticeable when the Dolphins offense reached the red zone early in the second quarter. Snowballs were landing in the end zone and in the area of players during and after plays. One appeared to strike a camera operator perched on a stand.
