The annual 43North competition is open. Business First noting the application process for the ninth annual contest for seed-stage startups has started. Since 2014, 43North's backing has raised more than $1 billion in venture capital for 64 companies.
Catholic Health has arranged to fill an emergency care gap for part of Niagara County. According to Business First, the health system purchased Eastern Niagara Express Care on South Transit Road in Lockport. Catholic Health will operate a 24/7 emergency department there while it completes work on a new $66 million, 63,000-square-foot hospital. That work should be done this fall. Eastern Niagara Hospital closes June 17th.
Bar-Bill Tavern is expanding in the Rochester area. Business First reports a location will open in Penfield at the tip of Irondequoit Bay in the building that once was home to Macgregor's Grill & Tap Room. Bar Bill opened a restaurant on Main Street in Clarence in 202 and still operates its original location on Main Street in East Aurora.
