Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - ECMC has named Andy Davis as its new CEO becoming effective on June 15.

The hospital board of trustees unanimously approved the appointment Monday afternoon, less than a week after current CEO Thomas Quatroche Jr. announced he would leave after a decade with the medical center. Davis has served as chief operating officer at ECMC for a decade and back in January 2025 he took on the title of president as he brings more than 20 years of experience in health care to the position.

Southern Tier Brewing Company has announced that a new decadent brew is available called Cheat Day Imperial Ale, which is a dessert beer inspired by Perry’s Ice Cream’s Extra Indulgent flavor. The new beer captures the essence of Perry’s decadent ice cream featuring rich brownie batter and cookie dough notes, luscious brown sugar sweetness and a whisper of vanilla all in a smooth, full-bodied brew which has a 8.6% ABV.

Developer Sam Savarino has purchased a six-story bank building in the City of Lockport, moving forward with a project he's been planning for many years.

Savarino's company purchased the former Farmers and Mechanics Savings Bank tower at 116 Main St. for $250,000 from the estate of late local developer Elmer Granchelli, as Savarino plans to spend about $12 million to restore the long-vacant building and turn it into 16 luxury apartments as construction plans to begin later this year with the project expected to wrap up by 2027 or early 2028.
