AI-heavy 43North Finals features two Buffalo startups

Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Eight startups will compete in the 43North Finals Thursday night at Shea's. Two are based in Buffalo. Ziffy.ai is an AI real estate investing platform. JECA makes clean energy bars. The remaining six are Airbuild, which turns discarded nutrients from cities into fertilizer; Leansite, an AI facility management platform; Neurath, an AI that prevents system failures; Rochester's Playground, a women's health company; Valene Health, which makes AI tools for health systems; and VoicePlug AI, helping restaurants take orders using artificial intelligence. Thursday's Finals begin at 6 p.m..

Templeton Landing on Buffalo's waterfront is now controlled by the city after a judge ruled the venue's owner, Specialty Restaurants, breached a deal to run Templeton Landing as a restaurant, instead running special events and banquets at the site. Business First reports the Buffalo Urban Renewal Agency is in talks with the tenant on what to do next.
