A new 'leash' on life in a way for Buddy's Second Chance Rescue Inc. According to Business First, the dog adoption service will move from Niagara Street in Buffalo to a new headquarters at 15 North French Road in Amherst. Buddy's paid $675,000 for the building and intends to add canine day care.
Belmont Housing Resources for WNY Inc. has proposed developing the northern part of the former Millard Fillmore Gates Circle Homeopathic Hospital building at 630 Linwood Avenue into an 80-unit apartment building for those in the affordable or moderate income levels. Business First reporting that project will go before the Buffalo Planning Board.
Northwest Bancshares, Inc. reported that net income for the quarter ending June 30th was $33.4 million - or twenty-six cents per diluted share. That's a decrease of $15.5 million from the same quarter a year ago. Northwest also announcing a quarterly cash dividend of twenty cents per share, payable August 15th to shareholders of record as of August 4th.
