Another spike for local gas prices

Gas prices are still headed skyward. The AAA tracking another seven cent increase this past week, putting the current average for a gallon on unleaded in the Buffalo metro area at $2.72. The pump price here has skyrocketed twenty-nine cents in the past month.

The NFTA has agreed to purchase 10 battery-electric buses to be delivered in 2022 from New Flyer of America Inc.  Cost for those buses will be $10.1 million dollars. The agreement includes an option to purchase up to 140 additional buses over a five-year period.


The Buffalo Niagara Business Ethics Awards are now accepting nominations for 2021.  The mission of the Buffalo Niagara Business Ethics Association is to foster, promote and recognize ethical business practices in the Buffalo Niagara region.  Nominees will be accepted in three categories: small, medium and large sized businesses.  Nominations close March 12th.  They can be submitted at BuffaloBusinessEthics.org

According to Business First, American Steamship Co. of Williamsville has laid of 95 employees.  The company operates a fleet of vessels that are used to ship products to and from Great Lakes ports.
