Buffalo company among five winners at 43North's "final Finals"

Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - The five winners of the final 43North Finals have been selected. JECA Energy Bars is the lone Buffalo company to win one of the five $1 million prizes. Other winners include Airbuild, Leansite, Playground Intimate Health & Wellness and Valene Health. The companies start their one-year incubation with 43North, in Buffalo, in January.

The Draft Room next to KeyBank Center downtown is facing eviction, but its owners say landlord Top Shelf Management is trying to take advantage of increased traffic at Sabres games. According to Business First, Top Shelf says the Draft Room is operating despite the expiration of a sublease. The restaurant is asking for a five year extension of the sublease.


Independent Health has revealed its 2027 Medicare Advantage plan offerings and is putting out a reminder about the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period that starts October 15th. Medicare recipients can reach out to Independent Health at their Medicare Information Centers in Depew, Williamsville, Orchard Park and Lakewood.

Trocaire College has named Marty Boryszak, Abraham Rojo Joseph and Patrick Keating to its board of trustees. Joseph and Keating are both banking executives, while Boryszak is a healthcare executive.
