Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - All three of the top grocers in Buffalo have made gains in their local market share compared to last year. The new data from Chain Store Guides has Wegmans in first place, gaining .2% over last year. Tops ranked second, improving their share by about 1/3 of a point, while Walmart ranks third with slight gains.
UB's Panasci Technology Entrepreneurship Competition is this Thursday from 4:30-7:30 at UB's Center for the Arts. The competition is the university's equivalent of the 43 North business competition. Five companies will make their pitches with first place receiving $65,000 in startup funding. Second place will receive $10,000.
SPoT Coffee is now selling canned iced coffee. It's their first foray into the bottled beverage business. It'll be carried at select SPoT locations.
No changes in gas prices over the last week in Buffalo, with the average cost of a gallon coming in at $3.06. Gas prices across New York state dropped two cents to $3.09.
