The cost of the Catholic Health plan for a new Eastern Niagara Hospital in Lockport has mushroomed. Business First reports the hospital footprint itself is going from 42,000 to 63,000 square feet. There are also additional land acquisitions related to constructing a new entrance off the Lockport Bypass. The project cost comes in at $66.3 million - up from the original estimate of $37 million.
Florida-based NextEra Energy Inc. is ready to build a 280 megawatt solar farm in the Genesee County Town of Byron. According to Business First, NextEra Energy is laying out over $345 million to develop the project. The plan is to break ground later this year, one final state approvals are granted.
