
Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - ConnectLife has put out an urgent call for phlebotomists and is hosting open interviews Thursday from 10am-6pm at it's Williamsville headquarters. Full and part-time positions are available with pay starting at $19 an hour. ConnectLife says the hiring push is part of an emergency effort to ensure safe and efficient blood donations across Western New York.

UB received a high honor as the university ranks 36th out of 225 schools in US News' Best College rankings for 2026. UB also placed 75th on the outlet's list of Best National Universities. Canisius University also got some recognition from the annual rankings, placing 32nd on a list of Best Colleges in the Northern US. Canisius also placed 5th among 70 schools in the North for Best Value.
The arcade machines from downtown Buffalo's recently closed Misuta Chows have a new home at the Cheektowaga Country Club. Owner Brad Smith told Business First "We feel like we're carrying the torch...we're humbled and very grateful we got them." Cheektowaga Country Club opened in May.
After more than a decade at the helm, Dottie Gallagher is retiring from her role as CEO of the Buffalo Niagara Partnership. President and COO Grant Loomis will take over the role next June. The Buffalo Niagara Partnership serves as the region's chamber of commerce.
