Costco Wholesale has purchased a space in Amherst. The wholesale giant paid 6 million to secure the 16.6 acre plot, their first location in Western New York. Costco is expected to open the location in Spring of 2026, and the retail warehouse will cost nearly 22 and a half million dollars to build. It is to be completed as a Benderson development.
HEALTHeLINK has appointed a new member to its board of directors. Joining the health information exchange is Paul Valley, president of Univera Healthcare. He has been appointed for a three-year term.
The Catholic Diocese is laying off about 16 workers as they work to resolve a $150 million dollar sexual abuse settlement and bankruptcy. The layoff takes effect August 31st, and will account for about 22% of it's 75-person workforce.
