Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - As the area's first Costco continues to take shape at 4230 Ridge Lea Road in Amherst, we have an update on when the retail giant will open. The Town of Amherst tells Business First the store is expected to open in the last week of October. The company is still hiring, with 40 open positions for the new location listed on Costco's website. The store's opening date has been pushed back multiple times.
Richard Moylan, former president of The Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn, has joined the Mount Calvary Cemetery Board in Cheektowaga. Moylan introduced green burials and environmentally friendly alternatives to traditional burials during his time at Green-Wood.
Construction on the new Buffalo Cruise Terminal is set to begin next month at the former site of the Pier Restaurant at the Outer Harbor. A grand opening is scheduled for 2028.
