Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Six Flags Darien Lake is hosting a hiring event beginning Monday morning through this Saturday, May 4th at the park's Employment Center at 1501 Sumner Road in Corfu. The event will go from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. 500 positions are available in multiple areas, including Ride Operations, Lifeguards, Landscaping and Maintenance.
The Junior League of Buffalo has awarded $175,000 to The Tool Library. The Tool Library is a non-profit that gives community members access to tools to fix-up their homes and free educational programs. The group will use the money to purchase a new headquarters at 2626 Main Street.
Gas prices continue to rise in Buffalo, now up 4 cents since last week at $3.60 per gallon. That's approaching the national average of $3.66.
