Cabela's set for two-day hiring event

Another day, another major Buffalo purchase for developer Doug Jemal. According to Business First, Jemal has purchased the Simon Electric Co. properties for $5 million. All together, there are eight buildings and two surface lots within the Simon footprint bordered by East Huron, Ellicott and Washington Streets. Tentative plans are for 200 apartments and retail, restaurant or office space.

As part of a national hiring event, Cabela's in Cheektowaga is looking to hire 81 candidates for positions in several retail departments.   The hiring event is tomorrow and Thursday from 10am-7pm.  Interested applicants are encouraged to apply in advance at basspro.com/careers


Engineering firm Erdman Anthony has acquired Dwyer Engineering.  Terms of the deal were not announced.  Dwyer Engineering is a mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and refrigeration engineering firm.  Based in Rochester, Erdman Anthony has an office in Buffalo.

There will be a ribbon-cutting for the second Ike and BG's Restaurant in Buffalo tomorrow.  The new site is at 56 Niagara Street.  The original restaurant remains at 1646 Genesee Street.
