Despite some fierce opposition, the Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation is proceeding with its plans for an open-air event center at the Outer Harbor. Business First reports the ECHDC has set a deadline of July 28th at 2pm for bids to be submitted for converting the vacant Terminal B along Fuhrmann Boulevard.

Business First also reporting that the home of former Sabres' GM Jason Botterill and his wife is under contract.  The sale price for their Middlesex Road home close to the $1.499 million asking price - about 14.5% more than what they paid for the house four years ago.


Retailer Rue21 Inc. is making a return to the Buffalo area.  According to Business First, a store will fill the former Abercormbie & Fitch site at the Galleria Mall.

Delaware North Sportservice will host a series of job fairs for part-time seasonal positions at Highmark Stadium.  The first of those is Saturday, July 24th from 10am to 2pm.  There will also be sessions from 4-7pm Wednesday, July 28th and Tuesday, August 3rd.  The job fairs will be held at the Bills Store on Abbott Road.  For more, go to Careers.DelawareNorth.com
