51 people will be laid off at the commissary operation of FeedMore WNY by the end of next month. Business First reports this is a result of food service contractor Trio Community Meals LLC ending its contract with FeedMore on March 31st. FeedMore is seeking a new operator and most if not all of those workers could be brought back. The shift is not expected to have an impact on recipients. In a statement attributed to Chief Communications Officer for FeedMore WNY Collin Bishop, FeedMore adding "TRIO is ending the food service contract in the FeedMore WNY commissary on March 31. After being informed of the decision, FeedMore WNY formed a subcommittee to identify options for our commissary and ensure a seamless transition from TRIO to a new operation. Work on the new food service plan is underway and our clients will continue to receive the high-quality meals and exceptional service on which they rely."
