Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Goodyear's Niagara Falls chemical plant will close at the end of the month. Residents had long complained about the facility due to concerns over cancer causing pollution produced by the plant. Goodyear had previously been fined by the DEC because of the plant's dangerous emissions. The company has yet to file a WARN notice with the state which would reveal how many employees are affected.
Basil Family Dealerships is expanding its footprint, purchasing Emerling Ford and Emerling Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, both of which are in Springville. Customers will notice the switch to the Basil name starting next Monday.
$11 million worth of electrical upgrades and infrastructure improvements have been completed at the Rath Building. There's a new roof, a solar array and electric vehicle charging station. The county says it's the most comprehensive series of upgrades made in the building's history.
