Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - A hiring event for the Kensington Expressway tunnel project will be held Thursday evening from 6 to 7:30 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church at 701 East Delavan Avenue in Buffalo. The state Department of Transportation is looking for qualified local residents to work on the project. Attendees will learn training and application requirements needed to work on the project.
Calling all footy fans! Buffalo Pro Soccer, the prospective new USL team, is holding its first town hall Thursday night at 5:30 at The Banshee Irish Pub at 257 Franklin Street in Buffalo. The public is encouraged to attend as the man behind the project, Peter Marlette, Jr., will give an update on the club's progress. The first 30 fans that arrive will receive a Buffalo Pro Soccer scarf. The goal is to start play in 2026.
The Market in the Square in North Tonawanda is partnering with Field & Fork Network to launch their Double Up Food Bucks NY program. Double Up is a statewide program that matches SNAP purchases at farmers markets, stands and grocery stores. The program increases access to fresh produce for low-income individuals and families.
