Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Developer Douglas Jemal has withdrawn from another local project, this time transferring operations of the Richardson Hotel to the Richardson Olmsted Campus board of directors. The board takes over beginning today. Jemal took over the hotel in 2021 and invested in a redevelopment project. The hotel reopened in 2023. In a written statement, Jemal said "We accomplished what I set out to do." Jemal says for the good of his other projects, now is the time to transfer operations. Last month Jemal pulled back on a town center project at the Boulevard Mall. He also recently scrapped plans for a project at Buffalo's historic Mahoney building.
