Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Buffalo's John W. Danforth Company, which has been in operation for 141 years, has been purchased by Connecticut-based EMCOR Group. EMCOR is a publicly traded Fortune 500 company. Danforth has more than 1,000 employees in Buffalo and beyond. The company recorded $120 million in revenue last year.

Jack Rabbit in Buffalo's Elmwood Village is temporarily closing its dining room and bar due to what the owners call "highly unfortunate circumstances." In a Facebook post, the owners said they will hopefully be back by this weekend. No official reason for the closure was given.

Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, M&T Bank and the American Red Cross are teaming for a blood drive today from 8 a.m-2 p.m. at Seneca One. Donors get a chance to win $5,000 and Red Cross merch.

One former Rite Aid store is off the market. A former location at 1220 Lovejoy in Buffalo has sold for $650,000.

MusicalFare's move to Shea's 710 Theater is paying off. The current run of "Come From Away" has sold 6,189 tickets, which is a MusicalFare record.
