Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Congressman Nick Langworthy is asking the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development to look into development at the North Aud Block, specifically the selection process for out-of-state-developer Pennrose, and the use of federal funds. Langworthy also raised concerns about the cost of the project, which has received criticism from local business leaders for the amount of subsidized housing being built there and changes to the original plan.
Marketing agency The Martin Group is celebrating its 25th anniversary. The company began as a one-person startup in 2001 and has since expanded to West Palm Beach, Cleveland, Dallas, Orlando and more major cities. The Martin Group is headquartered in Buffalo.
The Niagara Area Foundation, a division of the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo, is now accepting grant applications from nonprofits. Grants of up to $10,000 will be awarded to groups focusing on youth development and the environment. Applications can be submitted online and are due Tuesday, October 6.
