Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Literacy Buffalo Niagara has been awarded a $100,000 grant from Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield's Blue Fund. Literacy Buffalo Niagara is the only provider of one-on-one tutoring for adults in Erie and Niagara counties. The funds will allow the group to distribute 5,000 books to low-income youths and organize workshops.
Harbor Freight Tools is coming to North Buffalo's Delaware Consumer Square at 2638 Delaware Avenue, per Buffalo Business First. The store is expected to open in January. It will be the sixth Buffalo area Harbor Freight location.
Hounds & Hops, a spot for lovers of dogs and beer, has opened at the plaza level of Seneca One Tower. The new social space features a dog friendly bar and grooming services. Hounds & Hops hopes to eventually offer an indoor dog park and daycare.
