New food and beverage operator for Kleinhans

Kleinhans Music Hall is changing who operates its food, drink and special-events venues. Restaurant owner Dave Schutte will run those venues along with several former managers and staff of Sear Steakhouse. The operation will be known as Marcato by Sear and open next week. Marcato will be open prior to Saturday night Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra Pops and Classic series concerts to Kleinhans ticket holders, and feature a three-course, prix fixe menu.

National Grid is taking a proposal before the Lancaster Planning Board.  Business First reports the utility wants to build a 55,000-square-foot emergency-response facility at 295 Cemetery Road.  National Grid would like to break ground early next year.  Lancaster's IDA will consider tax breaks for the project at a meeting October 19th.

KeyBank and the First Niagara Foundation have given a $10,000 grant to Highland Clubhouse.  This will support the development of a community space where neighbors of all ages are welcomed for activities and education that foster improvement in the community.
