Market in the Square owner Brian Kuzmierski, along with his children, have purchased two Allegany County Giant Food Mart stores. Business First notes those stores are in Cuba and Wellsville, but the purchase price was not disclosed. Market in the Swquare has two stores in Erie County - at West Seneca's Southgate Plaza and in the Budwey's Plaza in North Tonawanda.

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center has received a $100,000 grant from the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation in support of the Medical Center's Guardian Angels project. This initiative is aimed at protecting and watching over high-risk Medicare patients with severe mental illness.
