Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Marrano Homes recently surpassed $1.5 million dollars donated to Roswell Park and Millard Fillmore Suburban, donating $300,000 to the hospitals through its "Raising the Roof" program. $200,000 was recently donated to Roswell with $100,000 going to Millard Fillmore. The program started 15 years ago. Donations were collected from Marrano subcontractors, suppliers, customers and employees.
Roswell Park has added eight new physicians to its staff. The new hires will have leading roles in cell therapy, clinical trials and hematopathology, which is the study of blood diseases. The physicians and their titles are:
-Dr. Ankit Patel, Physician and Assistant Professor of Oncology, Department of Surgical Oncology
-Dr. Shilpa Chowdhry, Physician and Assistant Professor of Oncology, Department of Anesthesiology
-Dr. Oday Karadsheh, Physician, Assistant Professor of Oncology and Director of the Endocrinology Division, Department of Internal Medicine
-Dr. Mark Frattini, Senior Vice President, Clinical Research
-Dr. Claudiu Cotta, Vice Chair of Hematopathology
-Dr. Majed Refaai, Physician in Pathology & Laboratory Medicine
-Dr. Cerrene Giordano, Physician and Associate Professor of Oncology, Department of Dermatology
-Dr. Weining Ma, Physician and Associate Professor of Oncology, Department of Dermatology
Trocaire College has named Michael Konopski as Dean of Enrollment Management. Konopski has 40 years of experience in the field, having worked at Niagara University, D'Youville and universities in Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Kentucky.
