Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Mayor Chris Scanlon announced a new Small Business Grant Program in the City of Buffalo Thursday, along with a Small Business Advisory Cabinet. $566,000 in federal funds has been designated for the program. Businesses with up to 50 employees can apply for $20,000 for payroll, rent and mortgage payments, utilities and more. Businesses near commercial corridors will be among those that receive priority.
Accounting firm Lumsden McCormick has been named a Certified Great Place to Work for the fourth consecutive year and one of Fortune's Best Workplaces in New York. The awards are based on employee feedback. 99% if employees say the company is great to work for. The average for other companies is 57%.
NYSEG has appointed Marc Geaumont as company president. Geaumont is coming over from Northline Utilities where he served as business director for the northeast.
